On January 10, 2026 (some reports say the incident happened on January 9), a big thing happened at the famous Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. A 55-year-old Muslim man from Kashmir was stopped and taken by police.

The Muslim man’s name is Ahmed Sheikh (some call him Abu Ahmed Sheikh or Abdul Ahad Sheikh). He lives in Shopian district, Jammu and Kashmir. He entered the Ram Mandir area through Gate D1. He was wearing normal Kashmiri clothes.
He first went to see the main temple. Then he went to the Sita Rasoi area (a special part in the south side). There, he sat down and started to prepare for namaz (Islamic prayer).

Security guards saw him. They stopped him quickly. When they stopped him, he shouted religious words like "Allahu Akbar" (some say he raised slogans). The guards took him away right away. They gave him to the local police at Ram Janmabhoomi police station.
Police found some dry fruits like cashews and raisins in his bag. He said he was going to Ajmer (a holy place for Muslims), but no one knows why he came to Ayodhya.
His family says he is mentally ill. His son Imran said, "He is totally unsound. We did not know about this." They gave medical papers from Srinagar hospital to prove it.
Police are checking everything. They are asking about his travel, his past, and if anyone helped him. Some other people from Kashmir (two youths or one woman in some reports) who were nearby selling clothes were also stopped for a short time, but later let go.
The Ram Mandir has very strong security. There are many cameras, guards, and high-tech systems. This place is very important for Hindus. The temple was opened in January 2024 after many years.
